At Yucaipa Valley Pediatric Living, Inc., we believe children with complex medical needs deserve exceptional care in a place that feels like home. Located in Yucaipa, California, we are a six-bed pediatric Congregate Living Health Facility (CLHF) serving children from birth through 17 years of age who require ongoing skilled nursing care outside of a hospital setting. Our small, home-like setting allows us to provide individualized care in an environment designed around safety, comfort, accessibility, and childhood. We care for children who may require ventilator support, tracheostomy care, enteral nutrition, medication management, and other skilled nursing services. Our team works together to support each child’s medical, developmental, and emotional needs while encouraging growth, play, connection, and age-appropriate experiences whenever possible. Families are an essential part of our care. We value open communication, collaboration, and meaningful family involvement, and we strive to build relationships based on trust and respect. At Yucaipa Valley Pediatric Living, our goal is simple: to provide high-quality pediatric care in a safe, nurturing home where every child is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Our Story
Yucaipa Valley Pediatric Living, Inc. was founded with a simple purpose: to provide medically fragile children with exceptional nursing care in a place that feels like home. As foster parents to medically fragile children, Hanah and Thomas Malcolm have seen firsthand how deeply a nurturing, family-centered environment can impact a child’s comfort, development, and quality of life. Their experiences inspired a vision to create a home where children with complex medical needs could receive skilled, compassionate care while still experiencing connection, encouragement, and the everyday joys of childhood.
Hanah Malcolm, BSN, RN, Owner and Administrator, brings years of pediatric nursing experience caring for critically ill newborns and children with complex medical needs. Through both nursing and foster care, she has learned that exceptional care is about more than medical treatment. It is also about trust, consistency, meaningful relationships, and treating every child with dignity and respect.That vision became Yucaipa Valley Pediatric Living—a small pediatric Congregate Living Health Facility created to provide high-quality nursing care in a safe, welcoming, family-centered home.
For Hanah and Thomas, this is more than a business. It is an extension of the care, compassion, and advocacy that first inspired them to serve medically fragile children and their families.
